Ski and Board Program

Ski and Board Program, 2016

General Information:

On Wednesdays in the winter, TSA is pleased to offer its students the chance to participate in the ski/board program at Suicide Six in Pomfret, Vermont. Our first day of skiing this year is January 6th, the first Wednesday back from December break. The program continues each Wednesday for seven weeks.  In 2016, the dates for the ski/board program are:

  • January 6th
  • January 13th
  • January 20th
  • January 27th
  • February 3rd
  • February 10th
  • February 17

If we have to cancel a week due to inclement weather, Suicide Six will do its best to offer an extra week in the weeks that follow.

While this program is not mandatory, we encourage all students to participate. High school students can use participation in this program to satisfy their physical education requirements.

We’ve had great fun with this program in past years. Suicide Six is not a difficult area to ski, has many beginner runs, and is a great place to learn to ski. It also has enough challenge that even our advanced skiers enjoy the afternoon with their friends.

Suicide Six has kept its pricing the same for the past four years, offering us a great deal on skiing and riding, lessons, and rentals.  We prefer that the entire amount of the program be prepaid by December 16th. Otherwise ½ of the cost must be prepaid by December 16th to The Sharon Academy for students to participate. Payment in full must be made by February 10th.

Costs per person for the season:

  • Skiing/Boarding – 7 weeks $ 99.00
  • Lessons for Beginners – 4 weeks $ 80.00
  • Private Lessons – $35/week
  • Rentals – Ski or Snowboard $175.00
    • Includes helmet.  Must be fitted before Christmas
  • Helmet only –  $10 per week
  • Bus (From TSA to Suicide 6 only) – $ 30.00 for the season
  • Return Bus (From Suicide 6 to TSA only) – $3 per week

Scholarships: Please call Andrew Lane at the middle school if you need assistance with payment: 763-2531. We are committed to making this program affordable for all students. Please speak to Janice about confidential scholarships. If you have received a scholarship in previous years, you still need to speak to the office again this year. We have a tight budget, and need to balance out the needs of all students who apply.
