Gifts by Check

Writing a personal check is a simple way to make a gift. Checks should be made out to The Sharon Academy and mailed to:

The school will send a receipt acknowledging your gift. It is adviseable to keep this receipt for tax purposes.

Gifts by Credit Card

Many alumni and friends charge their annual gift to a VISA or MasterCard account. To make a credit card gift online over a secure browser:

Gifts of Stock

Many donors to The Sharon Academy make gifts in the form of appreciated marketable securities. This is one of the most attractive methods of giving because of the substantial tax advantages. Making a gift of appreciated securities to The Sharon Academy is a simple matter.

Giving Stock held by your Broker or Commercial Banker
Your broker may electronically transfer ownership of the stock to The Sharon Academy's account at LPL Financial, (see account information below). Important: Please notify, or have your broker notify, TSA's Director of Development at (802)763-2500, when you initiate an electronic transfer for donation of stock. Please give your broker the following information:

 Giving Stock that is in your name and in your possession

• Do not endorse the certificates.
• Mail unendorsed certificates by first class or registered mail to the development office.
• Mail a stock or bond power (obtain from your broker or commercial or download from the link provided below) under separate cover to the same address.
• Sign the power and have the signature guaranteed by your broker or commercial banker, but do not fill in anything else.
• Enclose a letter of transmittal with the certificate. Include a copy of the letter with the stock power.
• If the certificates are already endorsed, send them by insured mail or deliver them by hand to the address above.

Planned Giving

While outright gifts to The Sharon Academy provide crucial resources for current programs, deferred, or "planned" gifts build the foundation for the future of TSA.

"Planned Giving" refers to giving through estate plans or life income gifts that are particularly suitable for those who would like to support The Sharon Academy with a gift that may not be possible to make outright.  Read more...
