TSA HS Students Contribute to Local Food Pantries
During the last two weeks of school before winter break, the high school cohorts competed to bring in the most food for local food shelters. The Green Cohort brought in 80 items and the Phoenix brought in 289 items. Freya Abbey ’23 and Finley Lord ’21 initiated the effort and brought all the food to Sharon Food Shelf and The Haven during winter break, just in time for the holidays.
“What a wonderful and generous donation you and your fellow students made to the Sharon Food Shelf!” Mary Stoddard, Coordinator, Sharon Food Shelf, sent these words of appreciation to Finley Lord ’21 and Freya Abbey ’23 for their efforts in organizing, promoting, collecting, and delivering over 260 pounds of food contributed by TSA high school students. Stoddard went on, “During this economic downturn, we are seeing an increase in the number of people who utilize the food shelf, and with the help of community members such as yourselves, we are able to continue to offer generous amounts of high-quality food with no monthly limits. People like you and your fellow students, make me proud to be part of the greater Sharon community.”
