MS students join statewide art project
This spring, several Middle School students participated in an optional community clay collaboration project sponsored by the Vermont Art Educators Association. Among the many participants, seventh graders Jackson Avery, Finnley Evans, Kaia Griffith, Aeden Hart, Hayden Jarrait, Lyla Lyman, Finn Proulx, Sophia Rodis and River Sotak; and eighth graders Lily Nolet and Elle Aldrighetti played important roles in the project.
Art educators and their students across the state were asked to contribute a clay slab of their county to a Bas relief installation depicting Vermont and artistic renditions of its various locales. TSA students made Wyndham, Windsor, and Essex counties. Organizers cut out paper templates to base the clay measurements on so that they would fit together after being fired and decorated. Many different styles contributed to the final piece, which debuted at the Vermont Art Educators Association’s “Vermont Voices” exhibit at the Statehouse the weekend of April 1, 2023.
