Face-to-Face, Heart-to-Heart: Monday, May 1, 2023
Join us on Monday, May 1, 2023, 6-8pm, as we close out this year’s series of Face-to-Face, Heart-to- Heart events and return to our roots with a panel discussion on Technology: Navigating an Ever-changing World.
Students, guardians, parents, and community members will share the benefits and challenges of integrating technology into our lives. Technology allows us to have music everywhere, to connect with our loved ones, gain access to varied perspectives and mountains of information. It also distracts us, opens us up to online bullying, overwhelms us with information, and interrupts our sleep. How are our brains and our relationships affected? How do families frame technology usage?
Please RSVP here. Add any questions and/or ideas you would like to see considered by the panel, and indicate if you yourself would like to be on the panel. We could use a few more folks willing to share their wonders, concerns, and celebrations regarding technology to help get the conversation started. This conversation will be facilitated by Christa Wurm; please reach out to her with any questions at [email protected].
Face to Face, Heart to Heart was started as a way to help our community come together to support our adolescents. We know that having supportive adults who are not family in a teen’s life is one of the biggest protective factors to promote resilience and overall health. (Sieving, et al. 2017)
We look forward to having you be part of this pervasive challenge and opportunity.
