HS students recognized for achievements
Congratulations to Lily Welch ’23, who was invited to join the music composition team for the 2020 Listen Up Project. Listen Up is a community project to develop an original musical written by and about Vermont Teens. The selection committee told Lily, “We really enjoyed getting to listen to your creative work and were truly impressed with the variety, talent, and passion we heard.” The team will be meeting virtually through April to review the script and create the songs. We look forward to seeing the show!
Congratulations to Nikki Harrington ’20 who was inducted into the National Technical Honor Society on March 3 through her work at the Hartford Area Career and Technology Center. Nikki is enrolled in Health Sciences. The honor society recognizes individuals for academic excellence, commitment to community and leadership. On March 14 she learned that she was also named Student of the Month.
Congratulations to Trace Barnhart ’21 and Anika Eastman ’21, who both won first place in The New Hampshire Academy of Science 2020 Annual Science Writing contest. The award includes a full scholarship to participate in their 3-week Applied Scientific Research summer program. The goal of the NHAS is to provide students who are interested in STEM the chance to perform authentic research in under the guidance of accomplished STEM professionals.
