The Sharon Academy relies on the support of our families and friends to provide a caring, nurturing school where students are known, valued, and challenged. |
Most of TSA’s students are publicly funded through the town in which they live. Unlike public schools, TSA cannot set our tuition based upon what it actually costs to educate each student. TSA receives a set tuition that is established by the state of Vermont for independent schools.
Why We Fundraise at TSA
At TSA 85% of our students are publicly funded from local sending towns. The state-set tuition does not cover the cost of educating each student as TSA. Most independent schools charge additional tuition. For 26 years, TSA has made a conscious decision to not charge additional tuition to allow diverse families to attend. Therefore, TSA must fundraise to make up the difference.
Annual Fund-Every Year Your Participation Counts
The Annual Fund is a yearly effort that helps TSA stay affordable for our families. Every year, we ask TSA families to make a contribution to the Annual Fund. Families give at all different levels and it all makes a difference. Our goal is 100% participation, and every year we get very close. We are proud of our high parent participation rate, which encourages granting organizations and larger donors to support the school, knowing that our parents contribute to TSA in such a meaningful way. TSA’s Annual Fund receives gifts from $7 to $75,000. All gifts are welcome and all contribute towards our important goal.
