A Day at TSA

Our day starts at 8:15 a.m. with Math, followed by hands-on, project-based classes in English, Science, and Social Studies. Classes are often mixed-grade and designed to spark discussion, critical thinking, and collaboration.

Teachers know each student well—and that shows up in everything from class projects to casual check-ins.

Mid-morning includes a chance to refuel: snack, announcements, and outdoor recess give students a reset before diving back in.

Lunch is relaxed and social—students eat indoors or outside. On Wednesdays, we offer Club Lunch, where students mix food and fun while planning activities or collaborating on shared interests such as Ghost Hunting, Fishing, Soccer, Archery, Film, or Dungeons & Dragons.

Afternoons rotate between Art, Spanish, ESP, and Study All:

• ESP (Emotional, Social, Physical) blends movement, games, and social-emotional learning.
• Study All offers a calm, supportive space for Health classes, independent work, or catching up on assignments.

Every Wednesday includes either an Advisory session or an All-School Community Meeting:

• Community Meeting is student-led and inclusive—a time for raising ideas, solving problems, and building shared values.
• Advisory is a small-group space for reflection, support, and connection.

The school day ends at 3:15 p.m., but many students stick around for our afterschool program until 5:00—homework first, then outdoor play, creative time, or clubs.

At TSA Middle School, learning happens everywhere—in the classroom, on the soccer field, and around the lunch table. Every student is known. Every voice matters.

TSA High School starts at 9:00 a.m., but you’ll often find students arriving early to shoot hoops, chat with friends, or meet up with teachers.
We kick off the week with an All-School Meeting on Mondays, a time to gather, share updates, and set intentions.

Students take five core academic classes throughout the year, rotating across a three-day block schedule. Small classes mean more creativity and deeper conversations—whether you’re designing a prototype in Physics, analyzing a memoir in English, or diving into roundtable dialogue in Humanities.

Short breaks between classes help students reset, grab a snack, and stay focused throughout the day.

Lunch is intentionally unhurried. Students eat together in Moore Hall (affectionately called The PIT) or outside on the field. It’s a chance to connect, decompress, or jump into a student-led club or activity.

Every student has a dedicated Advisory, meeting twice weekly for check-ins, goal setting, and community-building. It’s a space where students are seen, known and supported.

Afternoons are a mix of core academics, Phoenix Block, or Electives:

• On Tuesdays and Thursdays, students choose from quarterly electives like White Water Kayaking, Band, Mixed Media Art, Filmmaking, Creative Writing, or Science Fiction—classes designed for depth, creativity, and hands-on exploration.
• Phoenix Block gives students flexible time for academic coaching, internships, independent study, or recharging outdoors.

Wednesdays are half days, often reserved for special programming—guest workshops, all-school events, or community reflection days like Chain Reaction Day, inspired by the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

School wraps up at 3:15 p.m., though many students stick around for sports, rehearsals, or collaborative projects.

At TSA High School, students don’t just attend school—they shape it. Through choice, voice, and challenge, they grow into the leaders, creators, and citizens they’re becoming.
