Science Fair

Where Curiosity Takes Center Stage

Each spring, TSA’s Middle School transforms into a showcase of curiosity, creativity, and scientific discovery. After two months of independent research, experimentation, and analysis, our students proudly present their findings at the annual Middle School Science Fair—a beloved tradition that celebrates hands-on learning and student-driven problem solving.

From rocket nose-cones and bone-conductive headsets to homemade hand warmers, hissing cockroach behavior experiments, and all-terrain robots, the projects are as varied and imaginative as the students who create them. With posters, live demonstrations, and thoughtful explanations, our young scientists practice an essential part of the scientific process: communicating their work to the public.

Open to the Public – All Are Welcome!

This event is free and open to curious minds of all ages—from TSA families and alums to prospective students and neighbors from across the Upper Valley. Visitors can expect to engage with students about their hypotheses, see experimental design in action, and get inspired by the sheer energy and creativity on display.

Mark your calendars! The next Middle School Science Fair & Art Show will be held

“Every single conversation I had with students was full of positive energy. On our walk home, both of my kids remarked about how cool it all was.”

Art Show: Interdisciplinary Learning on Display

Alongside the Science Fair poster session, student art is on display to highlight the connection between academic rigor and creative expression. Visitors will see artwork in a range of media—including sculpture, drawing, and painting—that show how students use art to reflect on their learning in other classes. A watercolor tree complements Science’s ecology unit; a ceramic creation of favorite foods ties to Social Studies conversations about food access; a Dia de los Muertos mask integrates Spanish lessons. The art show exemplifies the kind of deep, interdisciplinary learning that defines TSA’s curriculum.

Why We Do It

The Science Fair isn’t just about scientific content—it’s about celebrating the joy of learning through doing. It’s about helping students develop the confidence to ask big questions, test their ideas, think independently, and communicate their findings clearly to a supportive community.
